Mainland Architecture . . . an oxymoron

Ok, I am the first to admit that I am not a whiz when it comes to architectural design sensibilities. I build things that appeal to me and I try to make them such that they appeal to others. On the mainland, there appears to be an “anything goes” sort of mentality. Some builds are just painful to look at. (more…)

Winter coats are on the agenda . . .

As the winter season is fast approaching, especially for those of us in more northern climates, it is time to look at appropriate clothing to protect oneself from the elements. Well, I have found two vendors that produce mighty fine coats for this time of year. You’ve often seen me wander about aimlessly wearing the fine greatcoat from Vincente Shepherd’s Gaslights Emporium. New for this season is the wonderful charcoal wool coat from E.Laval Haberdasher & atELier! (more…)

‘Tis about time . . .

Once, long ago, a newbie named Newbe came unto this land. With neither means nor merit, he endeavored to develop such developments as to fund his mere existence. LSL needs too many hoops…

Recently, when the Regency opening party was to occur, a friend mentioned a problem with the Writer Steam Works 8 Seat Skyjumping Lift, which was unfortunate, as she had intended to place it for use for the event. I was disheartened. So much so, that with other things that were on my mind (not SL related), I was about to place all my land for sale and then leave SL for good. I was, to say the least, frustrated. (more…)

Wonderfully Delightful Dominacynthe Absinthe

It seems that orders of monks have been known to sell alcoholic beverages to fund their monasteries. For example, the Chartreuse monks have their Tarragone Chartreuse and the Trappist monks have their Westvleteren beers. In fact, medieval monks were permitted to drink beer as it was a good source of nutrition, especially during their periods of fasting.
